The workshop-submission pipeline: which ML venues we pitch, when their windows open, and where each proposal stands.

We aim to submit AI-welfare / digital-minds / machine-consciousness workshop proposals to roughly ten ML conferences in August–September 2026, targeting conferences from February 2027 onward. At typical acceptance rates we expect about three workshops to be produced. Submitted and accepted counts below are computed live from the table.

How we pitch

Bridge ML methods and consciousness science. The workshop thesis is that machine-learning tooling — interpretability, benchmarks, model organisms — gives consciousness researchers tractable experiments, and consciousness science gives ML a principled theory of the systems it is building.
Frontier-lab relevance. AI welfare and model-moral-status questions are now live inside frontier labs; a workshop is the venue where lab researchers and non-lab consciousness scientists meet, co-author, and cross-cite — increasing legitimacy, legibility, and funding for the non-ML side.
Pluralism of theories under definitional uncertainty. No single theory of consciousness commands consensus, so each program deliberately spans GWT, IIT, higher-order, active-inference, and skeptical positions — recruiting new leaders across camps rather than adjudicating between them.
